Bio

Brandon is a composer, clarinetist, and educator based in Chicago.

His debut album Plot 01 showcases original music inspired by his own storytelling, blending orchestral elements with contemporary production techniques. He has composed for numerous films, including the award-winning short "Close Ties to Home Country," which was featured at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival.

Brandon has orchestrated for numerous live events, including Netflix's score-to-screen presentations of Bryce Dessner's Train Dreams and Jonny Greenwood's Oscar-nominated The Power of the Dog, Black Coffee's Madison Square Garden debut, and Ricardo Romaneiro's groundbreaking installation Liquidverse: Microcosm and Macrocosm. Brandon has orchestrated for several distinguished film composers, including Academy Award winner A.R. Rahman, documentary composer Joel Goodman, and vocalist and film composer Lisbeth Scott.

As a classically trained clarinetist, Brandon records for his own projects and collaborations across multiple genres, from orchestral and chamber music to contemporary experimental works. With Inletaudio, he created Dusk and Dusk Sparks, two sound libraries featuring an intimate range of bass clarinet textures for composers and sound designers, which captures the instrument's unique timbral qualities and expressive capabilities.

Brandon began his musical education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he studied composition and music theory while performing with the Marching Illini, developing his skills in arrangement and ensemble performance. He then earned his MFA at Columbia College Chicago, where he expanded his compositional techniques and technological expertise, serving as a graduate assistant to composer Kubilay Uner, gaining valuable mentorship in film scoring and production.

Brandon teaches as adjunct faculty at both DePaul University and Columbia College Chicago.
